The Computerfone™ has been
used in all sorts of ways! An
international networking company used
it at the heart of its network monitoring
system. Using Computerfone™'s
built-in timers, a timeout on the network
would result in Computerfone™ making
a series of phone calls until it tracked
down the system administrator. Home
phones, cell phones, beepers could all
be called. As a programming example, we offer
you a free answering machine program
to exercise the voice record and playback
functions of Computerfone™. Our Call Progress Module is a version
without any speech recording or playback
capability, but it has been used around
the world in universities and phone
companies to interface their powerful
workstations with the phone network.
Computerfone™'s call progress
and dialling capabilities get the job
done. No gas station operator wants the
environmental liability of a leaking
fuel tank. One application uses
Computerfone™ to take reports of fuel
status and calculates possible leaks
or other "shrinkage" at hundreds
of stations. What
can the
Computerfone™ do for your next project? |

T ee time reservations
at your local golf course ensure that
you get to play when you show up at
the course. Paying someone to
answer the phone and take reservations
24 hours a day can be expensive, but
not with Computerfone™ there to do the
job. We've seen Computerfone™
on the job at courses around the world. Laboratories often require samples
to be kept at carefully controlled temperatures.
With a simple thermostat in a
freezer connected to our contact sense
input, Computerfone™ can save the day
by calling the Lab Supervisor at the
first sign of trouble. You send crews out to get a job done
and they write down the time they spend.
But how do you know how long they
were really there or even IF they were
there? One of our developers used
Computerfone™ to serve as a remote
time clock. Caller ID detection
made sure they were really on the job
and not calling in from home A major national retailer started
using Computerfone™ in the mid 1980s
to allow its salesmen to check inventory
of furniture with just a phone. They
could reserve that table or sofa just
for you! |
