OscarDad (Display, Analyze & Direct) is
Oscar’s pond side display and controller that communicates
with the buoys, controls the aerators and monitors the aerators
for proper operation. OscarDads are complete and stand alone and
operate independently of OscarMom. Therefore an OscarMom is not
required where there is an OscarDad, but the redundancy is highly
desirable.
OscarDads are housed in a fiberglass instrument box
with a clear see through front and can be mounted on a pole or onto
a panel. The front of an OscarDad includes an ‘LCD’ display
and a keypad. At pond side, you communicate with OscarDad using
the keypad and you view responses, messages and status information
using the LCD display. OscarDad has a mode that will continuously
display pond D.O., Temperature and aerator status in a scrolling
fashion so that you can drive by and view all information for all
ponds through the clear front panel without having to leave your
vehicle.
OscarDad incorporates all of the operational features
of OscarMom to easily set up a pond’s parameters including
D.O. Limits, buoy network addressing, timer settings, etc. Aerators
can be manually turned on or off using OscarDad’s keypad or
can be over-riden using ‘Off-Auto-On’ switches
OscarDad comes with a built in ‘battery backup’
system that will allow it to run for up to six hours without external
power. OscarDad can also be set up to run on solar power for those
remote locations where external power is not available.
OscarDad’s internal memory will store up to
the last 2000 events, where an event is a D.O. Reading, turning
an aerator on or off, an alarm situation, etc. Using the keypad
and the front LCD display, you can then review, in chronological
order, these events on a pond by pond basis.
OscarDad offers an important safety option to the
farmer that will sound a loud siren or horn before an aerator is
started. This ‘clear the area’ sound could prove to be
invaluable to save life or limb. Another useful option is a flashing
strobe light that visually notifies the farmer of an alarm situation
that needs his immediate attention.
The OscarDad control cabinet was designed to optionally
include an ‘AC3 Aerator Controller’. This feature comes
in handy when you have a configuration with an OscarDad and up to
3 aerators to control from the same location. Utilizing this option,
you can eliminate having to buy a more expensive, stand alone aerator
controller.
